There have now been quite a few occasions in my life where I have felt the need to pray to God, and he answers me. I have to be careful what I ask for. I'm more agnostic than anything, but when I pray for non-materialistic things, he answers me. EG: One day I asked God for girls to send me flowers. Girls began to deliver flowers to me at work, the wrong girls mind you, but it seems God has a sense of humour?
What do you Christians make of all this?
Christians: I'm not Christian but God answers my prayers.?
Believing in God does not necessarily make you a Christian. For a long time I was agnostic, then I realized that I do believe in God, just not the Bible or any other organized religion really.
I think that you do believe there's a God, or you HOPE there is. That's why you pray. You're still trying to figure out exactly what it is you believe; whether it's the Bible word for word, or believe in the Bible's message, but not literally word for word.
Reply:Wrong. God tells us that He does not hear the prayers of the wicked.
His children are His children ONLY because of Jesus Christ.
If you do not believe in Jesus Christ, you do not know the Father, and are therefore wicked.
As to why He answers you, have you ever considered that Satan hears what you pray, and can make it come true, just to mislead you? Especially if you pray for dumb things like flowers, instead of eternal life.
Reply:Its all RANDOMNESS.
Reply:God will answer your prayers when He thinks it's good and right for you. but also be aware that sometimes satan could be there to tempt you. But it sounds like the flowers thing is harmless, so I guess it was God's doing. And yes, He does have a sense of humour.
Reply:well if you are serious I was at this point in life once myself. I believed but wasn't really sure, so I asked HIM to prove HE was real. Over and over again HE did it, but yet I still didn't accept it at first. But now I do because I heard HIS word and I now am saved. I encourage you to take this and accept the gift of salvation. Without it you are going to hell when you die, and you don't know when that is so don't wait. email me if you want more.
Reply:Has he ever not answered a prayer? How do you explain that? You're right, because you can't explain it, it must be God doing it, good luck with it continuing.
Reply:Like with me he knows that you are sincere in your prayers and he is showing you that he is very real. That is how I became a FORMER atheist 30 years ago.
Reply:Satan rules people, too. He can cause them to do things they wouldnt normally do under the right circumstances.
you said it wasnt from the right girls, so, I would say that God did not answer your prayer.
If it is from God, it will glorify God and it will not be anti-scriptural. Are you sure you are getting your answers from God? or the great counterfeiter?
Reply:I think that god is showing you that he is there!
also
i think you might be a christian if you say god answers your prayers ...........
so that means that you must believe in him =)
Reply:Coincidences that your looking for will explain this, its not god... ask yourself how many times you've prayed and didn't get what you wanted? I like this because its funny how Christians view things.
A baby falls 3 stories and dies is a tragedy, "god works in mysterious ways"
A baby falls 3 stories and lives its a miracle from god.
edit:
To the "FORMER" atheist below, you sold out your logic for fear... your older and fear death more than you did as a kid. Take a bio class, everything about us can be explained through evolution starting with the "primordial soup", which has been scientifically re created with success.
Assuming it's possible there is a god Pamela below probably has the closest idea to the most correct answer.
Adam R, typical christian fanatic exactly why I hate theists.
Reply:It could be just coincidence.
God answering prayers is not like a scientific experiment - no matter how many times you repeat it, the result is same. It is because God is not a non-living matter that behaves the same way every time you ask of Him. Belief in God is important even if He does not answer the prayers. Answering prayers should not be a criterion for believing or not believing in God. There are other things to consider.
