I want to get flowers delivered to someone in my school and was wondering if the florists can do that and if the school would allow it. I want it to be delivered to their actual class. It's a public high school in San Diego. Just want to see if anyone knows cause I don't want to ask the school if it's a guaranteed no. Also, do florists do that?

They will. But usually the school won't allow it to the classroom. They'll just announce that so-and-so needs to come to whatever office after school. That's what my school did so that they didn't disrupt their class.

How can I send flowers and/or a gift to the USA when I live in UK?
My sis-in-law in Florida gave birth to my niece last night! I live in the U.K. Is there some way I could orders flowers or a suitable gift for my sis-in-law and new born baby, to be delivered to the hospital in Tampa? I think only Interflora or Hallmark do it but they are sooo expensive and I am justa student of moderate means! Help!

look up flower shops on line in a directory. if they use FTD or Teleflora then they should be able to meet your needs. if they have an on line ordering service u can pay with a credit card. call the shop to confirm your order and her address and they should deliver the flowers to her door or wherever else you want them delivered. place your order in the morning so you don't get stuck with extra charges for your delivery.

I am attending a funeral of a neighbor who passed away recently. The funeral is in a very small coastal town, and there are no local florists. It would be very expensive to have them sent. In the obituary it says "friends and family may bring flowers or, flowers can be sent to"...(home address of the brother). Do you think that means bring them to the brother's home, or bring them with you to the funeral? If I hand deliver them to the brother's home, should I do so the evening before the funeral? If i bring them to to funeral, should I show up early so that they can be placed near the casket?

My mom just passed away 4 months ago and today is her birthday. But I am studying abroad in another country and can't visit her grave. I was really wanting to put some fresh flowers on her grave. Would it be strange to call a flouriest and have them deliver flowers to her grave? And if so..then what if they ask what to put in the card? Or will it have a card? I just really want to do something special but am having a hard time thinking what to do while 14,000 miles away. Also, what could I do for my dad to make this day easier?

Reply:I work at a cemetery and yes we have had flowers delivered before, the florist will need to know what location in the cemetery your Mom`s grave is located but someone in the office should be able to help with that. I would send your Dad a special gift also. I lost my Dad in January and we took my Mom out to eat on Valentines Day and sent her some fresh flowers and I think it helped her alot on the first Valentine Day without my Dad. I am very sorry to hear about your Mom.

I have a friend who lives in Quezon City and I want to surprise her with flowers on her birthday in September. I noticed on the Manila Times website that there are different companies like "Mahal Gift" and "Gifts2Pinas" that deliver flowers and gifts to places around Metro Manila. Reply:It is best to use a nursery that is in your own Gardening Zone, that way you know the plants have adapted to your area, or a zone north of you, making the plants even hardier.
It also makes a difference if your looking for seeds, perrenials, trees etc. most nurseries specialize, ask your local gardening friends who they prefer, also visit your local farmers market or some of the plant exchanges in your area.

May 11 is Mother's day (its a Sunday). Cheap flowers delivered? Now that is the tricky part. Pro Flowers has a deal for about $30. If you need something less expensive an idea is the buy them at the local flower shop or any place that sells them (my grocery store does sell them) and have a friend deliver them for you.

Hmmm... I don't know of any place that will deliver with an engraved vase.
If you want to deliver it yourself, you could try this:
A) Order the flowers from 1800flowers or similar vase. Have it delivered with a cheapo vase.
B) At the same time, order an engraved vase from Things Remembered.

D) Bring it to the local UPS store and ship it from there.

I was reading an article on tipping and it said to tip a floral delivery person a few dollars. I've never done that. I might not have any cash on hand. Since it's an unexpected delivery and I wasn't the one who ordered them, why would I be expected to tip?

Usually when flowers are delivered, they are delivered as a GIFT to the recipient from someone else. RARELY are flowers DELIVERED to the person who ORDERED them. As such, any "tip" is the onus of the PURCHASER, not the RECIPIENT. How would YOU like to get a gift and then have the person who GAVE you the gift expect a TIP for giving it to you? Same reasoning.
With Pizza delivery people, the people who are receiving the pizzas are generally the ones who ORDERED them, and thus, the tip is on the ORERERS.
Let's switch things around a bit.... A dear friend of yours calls the local Pizza place and says, "My friend, Mary is really SICK today, and I'd like to have a PIZZA delivered to her so she doesn't have to COOK tonight." So, she orders the pizza, gives the delivery instructions, and gives her credit card info to pay for it. Now... do you REALLY think that YOU (being "Mary") should tip the pizza delivery person when YOU didn't ORDER the pizza? It should be your dear friend who, on the phone giving the delivery/payment information that says, "Oh, and please add a $2 tip for the driver when you charge my card!"... RIGHT???
So... generally speaking, flower delivery people are not tipped for this reason.

They didnt show up until 2 hours after school ended and I called and called and they dont answer the phone, they just say the flowers are on their way and they have lots of calls please call back another day. Never Ever! Go through them! They didnt even offer a refund or anything. All they do is over charge you for flowers and pay a local shop to do the business. Good luck I hope it works out for you.

I've used a couple, but I think it is better to call a local florist. The prices are ushually a little better and the owner of the shop gets to keep more of the profits. It takes a bit more leg work on your part but you get a better arrangement and a small business owner instead of a large faceless corporation gets the money.

perfect. The other site was not. I ordered 16 roses and only 12 were delivered. They didn't look so hot either. I did get a refund for the difference in price. I'd stay with FTD.

I want have get well flowers delivered to a friend in Italy on Dec 12 but am on a tight budget, suggestions?
My friend lives in Milan and is going in for some minor surgery on Tuesday, Dec. 12th. I would like to have flowers delivered, but all the florists I've searched online are extremely expensive, and I just can't afford that. I just want something small and simple, and under $30. And more than just one single rose. :-P I'd appreciate some suggestions or ideas. Thanks! :-)

Be aware that in Italian hospitals if the patient is a married female she is registered under her maiden name.

Reply:For $30 you are going to get very little...Why don't you just send a card or call them? You won't be able to control the quality - Europe is not like the USA, especially Italy. EDIT: Regarding the answer below me ... those prices are in British Pounds, NOT U.S. Dollars. That would make those selections about $73 bucks. Need I say more?

My friend is in the hospital and I was thinking of sending him some flowers...the problem is he's in Detroit and I'm in Atlanta...I tried to find cheap flowers or free delivery online but the same high priced sites keep on coming up...Does anyone know of a cheap florist or a cheap way that I could send him some flowers?
